The Dovre Astroline 3 is a striking all-cast iron constructed 8kW contemporary styled wood burner set on a robust pedestal base. Weighing in at approximately 140kg this is a modern stove built in the traditional way to create a generous heat sink that will radiate warmth well after the fire has gone out. It shouldn't be confused with other cheaper lightweight 'designer' convection stoves – the Astroline 3 is the real deal. It's a wood stove that's been designed and built to the highest standards and it's been made to last. Only the construction is traditional the rest of its clean burning credentials are impeccable.
With it's generous angled side windows that give you a 180º+ view of the fire the Astroline 3 will excel in free-standing installations and with its distinctive angled footprint it will also make a particularly good choice for corner locations. You also get a very practical tested heat range from a lowly 2.5kW right up to 10kW which means that you'll definitely be able to use the Astroline 3 for a good part of the year and that it will also reassuringly see off the harshest of winter days. It has two separate discreet push-pull controls (primary booster air for quicker starts and secondary airwash for flame height) which will enable you to fine tune the heat output and fuel economy exactly as you wish.
With the Dovre Astroline 3 you also get Dovre's superior airwash system to keep the glass clean as well as a clean burn combustion system featuring pre-heated tertiary air to deliver extremely low emissions that are well below the tough new Ecodesign limits. Most importantly the Astroline 3 will provide you with an impressive full view of the flames and fire chamber from its full-height windows wherever you are in the room. The fire chamber will easily take larger logs up to 330mm (13") and the direct external air supply (DEAS) capability, which is standard (ducting and grille sold separately), means that provided it's used, you won't have to fit a draughty dedicated air vent.
If you're wondering what the difference is between the Astroline 3 and Astroline 4 is, it's the angle of the side panels. Everything else is exactly the same including the price. The 4's side panels are more or less at right angles to the fascia which gives it a more traditional footprint. NB The Astroline 3 with log store and multi fuel version have been discontinued by Dovre. You can check out the Dovre Astroline 4 here.
