HWAM 2610C ON PEDESTAL
The Hwam 2610C on a pedestal stand is a very stylish and beautifully proportioned 4.5kW contemporary wood burner that for many people will tick all of the boxes. For a start the Hwam 2610C has been Defra approved to allow you to legally burn wood in a smoke control area and has also passed the tough German DIBt test which ensures that its room seal is just about as good as it gets thus also making it an ideal choice for low energy homes and those with MVHR. It has a high efficiency A+ rating (80.3%) and with its large area of glass set in the fine cast iron door and the two side windows you'll get a great view of the fire from wherever you are in the room. The sturdy, 300mm high pedestal weighs in at 15kg (2 st 5lb) and provides an elegant but safe and secure stand for the cylindrical firebox with its semi circular footprint to make the Hwam 2610C a classy focal point in any small to medium sized living space.
There's a very practical tested heat output range starting at around 2.0kW and going up to a maximum of 6.0kW. This is precisely controlled with the Hwam 2610C's discreet slider control which works in combination with the Hwam AutoPilot and is a really useful standard feature that makes getting the best out of your stove ever-so easy. This is Hwam's tried and tested mechanical device which automatically boosts primary air when lighting the fire, during reloading and at the end of the burn cycle for more efficient and cleaner burning combustion. There's also a powerful 3-Way air wash system that not only works from the top of the glass but also from the sides to keep the glass clean. Direct external air supply capability from the base or rear will allow you to limit cold draughts and along with the DIBt tested door seal also ensure safe operation – even when there is an extractor fan present, for example in a kitchen diner (subject to BS8303 spillage tests).
The premium quality cast iron door, with its gently curved glass, features Hwam's unique closing mechanism which ensures a secure air tight seal with the minimum of effort. In fact if you want to know how well built the Hwam 2610C really is just open the door with its stylish cool touch handle and then see how easy it is to close it and listen to the sound when it makes contact with the high grade steel bodywork. It sounds a bit like a door on a German car – effortless. By the way, while you've got the door open compare the inside of the fire chamber to virtually any other stove you like. Highly compressed and tightly fitted moulded vermiculite panels with curved chamber corners eliminate any inefficient cold spots and prevent heat leakage to keep the fire chamber as hot as possible for much better burning. A smaller pressed steel door, which you simply push to open, conceals the ash pan chamber and ash pan for easier removal of the wood ash when it's needed.
There are five other models in the Danish-made Hwam 2610-Series with side windows including low plinth and wall-mounted options with a choice of classic cast iron (C) or modern glass-fronted (M) doors.
