Charnwood ISLAND II

CHARNWOOD ISLAND II MULTI FUEL STOVE

With its double doors and subtle timeless styling, Charnwood’s handsome 8kW Island II multi fuel stove has been designed to not only look great, but also to work exceptionally well at economically heating medium to large sized living spaces. With its A+ rated 82% efficiency the Island II is going to be very frugal with its use of fuel, whether you chose to burn seasoned logs or approved smokeless coal. To help with this the Island II has a cast iron, externally riddled converting fire grate that can be opened for coal and closed for wood. There’s just one cool touch handle with a well thought out locking mechanism  for both doors which makes them very easy to close and secure with just one gloved hand when it comes to refuelling.

The Island II’s clean burning credentials have been recognised by Defra Smoke Exempt status (no extra kit needed) so that you can legally burn wood in a smoke control area. In addition its low emissions have achieved the best Level 5 rating in the independently verified ClearSkies emissions and efficiency scheme which helps buyers identify stoves that go significantly beyond the tough Ecodesign emissions requirements. Whether you choose the low or high leg or store stand option, you can be sure that the Charnwood Island II is going to deliver you outstanding performance as well as provide a stunning focal point for your home.

To control the Island II’s generous 5kW to 11kW heat output range it features the Charnwood Quattroflow air management system with its single user friendly push-pull control. This system will deliver the correct balance of air above and below the fire grate to ensure effective and clean combustion of your fuel choice. It  will also give you much quicker starting fires and maintain a clear view of the flames through the large air washed windows right up until the fire has gone out. The Island II’s fire chamber will easily take extra large sized logs up to 480mm (19”) long to provide you with a spectacular full width flame pattern.

The Island II meets the UK building regulations requirements for installation on a 12mm non-combustible decorative hearth. It also has external air supply capability when the optional direct air manifold is specified which will allow you to avoid having to fit a draughty dedicated air vent in order to comply with building regulations. Other recommended options include a rear heat shield which will reduce the safe distances to combustible materials from 500mm to just 170mm at the back of the stove.

If you need to install the Island II with a vertical rear flue then Charnwood also offer a space-saving rear flue adaptor which takes up significantly less space than a T-piece or swept bend and can still be swept through the stove. If you take up this option then we highly recommend that you also consider purchasing Charnwood’s cast iron cooking plate for the top of your stove so that you can rustle up some hot and tasty food at the same time as you heat your home. And do it in style too.
