The Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove is another new Defra approved stove from Charnwood, this time it has a generous 7kW output, more than enough for medium to large rooms. The Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove is all about the wonderfully big view of the flame pattern which, among other things, makes it a great choice as a replacement for an open fire especially in an imposing fire surround like the one in our photograph.
The Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove's classic good looks are said to be inspired by Regency era architectural detailing and this can be clearly seen in the clean chiselled frame around the big window and the minimal door frame. As far as clean burning stoves and minimising the impact on the environment and our air quality go you won't get any better than the Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove's Level 5 ClearSkies Mark emissions rating and Defra approval. At 82% it's also highly efficient with an A+ rating and a useful heat output range between 5kW and 11kW. Charnwood's tried and tested, easy to use Quattroflow Air Management System ensures that you get a quicker starting fire and the correct mix of combustion air and a clear window for each phase of the burn cycle from just one discrete single push-pull control. A cool touch handle with firm door seal and sliding in and out firebed all add to the Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove's safe and user-friendly operation. The large fire chamber opening will also easily handle good sized 15" (390mm) logs.
The Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove meets UK Building Regulations requirements for installation on a 12mm decorative hearth (there's no need for a 125mm deep constructional hearth that you may require for other 7kW stoves). This and its direct external air supply (DEAS) capability means that its timeless design can also lend itself equally well as a free-standing focal point in a modern low energy home, including those with mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) and heat pump technology. Minimum safe distances to combustible materials are also very good with just 420mm at the side and 110mm at the rear when the optional heat shield is specified and twin wall flue is also used.
Although Charnwood offer a number of other 7kW stoves, anyone of which would make a great choice, the distinctive good looks of the Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove will no doubt quickly earn it a place amongst Charnwood's perennial best sellers. Charnwood's renowned combination of superior build quality and materials, their advanced low emissions combustion technology and their incredible attention to design detail, in The Stove Yard's view, have come together perfectly in the Charnwood Cranmore 7 Stove to create a truly exceptional high performance fire.
