There are three different Defra approved 5kW stoves in Esse's 500-series with the 500 model being the traditionally styled version. It has a robust British-made steel body combined with premium quality cast iron lid, legs and door with attractive detailing. The door features a distinctive, larger than average, ornate arched window with a deep Victorian-style moulded frame to create a classic log burner look that will make a handsome addition to any fireplace.
Inside the Esse 500 incorporates a finely-tuned Ecodesign compliant combustion system with pre-heated tertiary air that delivers a much cleaner burn and an impressive 82.9% efficiency when fuelling with wood. Heat and fuel is managed with two separate simple to use primary and secondary air slider controls (one at the bottom and one at the top) and there's a convenient external riddling system should you need it. The popular 5kW heat output ensures that this is a stove that will work very well in most small to medium-sized rooms.
When installed in pre-2008 homes it usually won't need a dedicated air vent'. There's a discreet flue draught test point on the side wall to confirm that Esse's recommended flue pressure is being met during commissioning and any future maintenance to ensure that you have a fully functioning flue and that the stove will operate safely.
