As many of you will know The Stove Yard are a major sponsor of Ards RFC in Newtownards – you'll also see our showroom staff proudly wearing their Ards hoodies, for example. Not content with our sponsorship money, they now want blood too. Last night Director Richard Poulter, thought he'd wander down to the Club and have a nice relaxing evening watching the boys practice – but they had other ideas. Here's a snippet from the Ards' report on yesterday's proceedings..."Good to see some fresh faces down last night at touch, even with a delayed kick off it was a good game on a beautiful summer evening... the man if the match award has to go to club sponsor Ricky Poulter. 'Big Stove' has trimmed down in recent years back to his natural welterweight and it certainly meant the ‘Kiltonga Killer’ could get up to top speed last night. Poults was running in tries with the efficiency of a Scandinavian clean burn convection stove and like most of his top sellers he was simply too hot to touch."Man of the match, not bad for a man of a certain age and honestly, we didn't write this piece. You'll recognise Richard from a number of our videos.
This year marks a major milestone for The Stove Yard: 20 years at the heart of home heating in Northern Ireland. From our humble beginnings back in 2005 to becoming Northern Ireland’s leading stove and fire retailer, it’s been quite the journey—and we think that’s worth celebrating.
To thank our loyal customers and mark the occasion, we’re launching our 20th Anniversary Sale, with up to 40% off selected stoves, fires, and BBQs. The sale runs from April 1st to May 31st, and all offers are available in-store at our Newtownards showroom.
On Saturday, April 5th, from 10 AM – 2 PM, we’re firing up the grills at The Stove Yard for a free BBQ tasting and live demo. Whether you’re thinking about getting a Traeger or just want some incredible food, this is your chance to see, smell, and taste what real wood-fired cooking is all about.
Will wood burning stoves be banned in the UK? Despite media scare stories, modern Ecodesign stoves are cleaner than ever, and sustainably sourced wood remains a carbon-neutral, renewable fuel. While regulations are tightening, wood burning stoves are here to stay.
