The Defra approved Esse 525 is the contemporary designed multi fuel stove from Esse's popular 500-series of three stoves, the other two being the traditionally styled 500 and the industrial chic classic 550. All three stoves feature the same highly efficient (82.9%) fire box with its pre-heated tertiary air to minimise emissions as well as an externally riddled two-position wood and multi fuel grate with ash pan for your choice of fuels. It also has two separate combustion air controls; primary air for coal and secondary air for wood. An Ecodesign stove which is also approved and tested for burning both wood and mineral fuel is a rarity so if burning coal is your preferred fuel then this British-made 5kW stove has to be a serious consideration.
Clean contemporary lines are a strong feature of the 525. Its elegant matching black full height columnar legs which are offset from the main bodywork corners, combined with a minimalist door with concealed hinges and clean cut window aperture, all make for a wonderfully distinctive stove and quite like no other. Its modest footprint and well balanced proportions means that it will fit perfectly within most fireplace openings and still provide the required distances to non-combustible materials. It can also be installed on a 12mm decorative hearth.
Esse's excellent pre-heated airwash system ensures that the 525's big window remains clear so that you'll always get a great view of the mesmerising flame pattern. The bodywork has been precision engineered from premium quality steel plate and features a laser cut top with gentle concave curves and feature rounded corners to complement the tubular leg cross section. A top quality cast iron door with discrete designer handle completes the eye-catching picture.
