CHARNWOOD C-EIGHT BLU WOOD BURNING STOVE
The Charnwood C-Eight is a highly efficient 8kW wood burning stove designed and built in Britain specifically for large cold rooms and living spaces where its generous radiant heat output can really get to work at keeping you warm and cosy. The C-Eight has a precisely controlled heat output range between 7kW to 9kW depending on how you set its single user-friendly control and the amount of fuel you load into it. Charnwood’s patented Quattrowflow air management system will then take care of delivering the correct amounts of air for quicker starting fires with the most effective burning and a powerful air wash to help keep the glass exceptionally clear right up until the end of the fire. Constructed from heavy gauge plate steel with a premium quality fine cast iron door and robust stay-cool wooden grip door handle the C-Eight weighs in at a staggering 119kg for the open-fronted low plinth version which will also create a significant slow release heat sink long after the fire eventually dies out.
The Charnwood C-Eight’s clean combustion and low emissions credentials have not only been approved by Defra for burning wood in smoke control areas (most UK urban areas) but have also been recognised by the highest Level 5 rating in the independently verified ClearSkies emissions and efficiency scheme which aims to determine the most environmentally friendly stoves. With an A+ efficiency of 81% and renewable wood fuel you can be sure that when you choose one of Charnwood’s three different C-Eight models you’ll be helping to do your bit for carbon reduction. The C-Eight can be installed on a 12mm non-combustible decorative hearth and when Charnwood’s optional external air kit is specified you get direct air supply capability. This is highly recommended for installation in post-2008 homes if you want to avoid having to add a draughty building regulations dedicated air vent.
Options for the C-Eight include a rear heat shield to reduce the safe distances to combustible materials to just 250mm at the back of the stove. If you have to use a rear vertical flue there’s also a space-saving rear flue adaptor which will significantly reduce the gap that you normally need to allow compared to the usual swept bend or T-piece. Once the C-Eight’ baffle plate has been simply dropped down and out of the way then the adaptor and flue system can both be easily swept. In addition when you use the rear flue then you should also seriously consider the versatile cast iron cooking plate for the top of your stove which will allow you to rustle up hot, tasty food at the same time as you’re heating your home. If you’d like some flexibility over your fuel choice then there’s an optional drop-in cast iron multi fuel reciprocating grate with separate ash pan which can be conveniently externally riddled to make ash removal really simple.
