With a nominal 9.6kW heat output the Defra approved Esse 705 is a seriously big stove designed with the heat and the visual presence to work well in a large stately room, say in a large Victorian home or a big old farmhouse. For a stove with this heat output there's not a huge choice of Defra approved models to allow you to legally burn wood logs in a smoke control area (most UK towns and cities) so this makes the British made Esse 705 well worth your consideration.
Fortunately the 705 offers you precise user-friendly control, with just one single slider above the door, to manage its wide 6kW to 11kW heat output range which, of course, will also depend on the size of the fuel load. Esse's large distinctive, gently arched window provides you with a great view of the wide fire chamber. This features a highly efficient airwash system to keep the whole of the widescreen window clean and also incorporates pre-heated tertiary air jets running along the top of the fire chamber back wall to deliver an extra level of combustion air to re-burn any particulates that may have been missed out in the original combustion process. This makes it both cleaner burning and more efficient.
