We're very pleased to announce that The Stove Yard has been appointed authorised Wiking dealers. Wiking wood burning stoves are made in Denmark in the same factory as the world-beating Dan Skan stoves that we already sell and are built to the same exacting standards of performance and production.
At some time from this Sunday until Tuesday most of The Stove Yard showroom staff from both Cheshire and County Down will be visiting the stove industry's big trade show, Hearth & Home in Harrogate.
As many of you will know The Stove Yard are a major sponsor of Ards RFC in Newtownards – you'll also see our showroom staff proudly wearing their Ards hoodies, for example. Not content with our sponsorship money, they now want blood too. Last night Director Richard Poulter, thought he'd wander down to the Club and have a nice relaxing evening watching the boys practice – but they had other ideas.
Last week was the European stove industry's big 5-day stove-fest in Frankfurt (ISH) and naturally the Stove Yard was there. As you'd expect it was an extremely busy affair and there were a number of major British and Irish players represented – but only as visitors.
Following the huge success of The Stove Yard's Big Green Egg BBQ competition at the recent Sea Bangor Festival, we will be bringing our Big Green Eggs to the Dalriada Festival in Glenarm on Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th of July for another competition which will again be open to barbecuers everywhere.
Ecodesign is EU legislation aimed at lowering emissions and improving air quality and is due to come into force for wood burning stoves in the UK in 2022. Manufacturers in the Stove Industry alliance (SIA) have recently been developing stoves that will meet the strict emission limits five years ahead of schedule and these will be branded with the SIA Ecodesign Ready label.
